"So tell me, what's it like living in a constant haze of stupidity?" He raised an eyebrow at his brother. He found it interesting that he was addressed as such, when Kurama himself admitted to not even knowing who he was. He'd let it slide though, if only to satisfy the previous fox's curiosity. "I find that question stupid, and therefore devoid of an intelligent response." |

REGRET IS A DIFFERENT BEAST WHEN YOU'VE LIVED FOR CENTURIES | Kurama let a laugh escape him. He leaned back and crossed his hands behind his head, laying on the bed with his feet still in the same odd position. "Call me stupid then. I remember nothing of you, so I'd like some proof that you're as high and mighty as you say you are." He chuckled out.

"So tell me, what's it like living in a constant haze of stupidity?" Hiei smirked. "Your actions are all the proof you need. For starters, I claimed that humans were inferior. I never claimed to be superior to them- though I am- you simply assumed. You also allowed me into your pack without hardly knowing my person. Now you tell me, what makes me 'high and mighty'?" |

REGRET IS A DIFFERENT BEAST WHEN YOU'VE LIVED FOR CENTURIES | Kurama's mind wasn't calm, but his features were. For a few moments he said nothing. "I would say nothing given your stature." He teased. Though his serious answer came to follow, a smirk in play because of his amusement at his own words before hand. "I know you as one I trusted in the past. You remember me meaning you still trust me. I saw no ill reason to treat you as a comrade, to let you into this small pack. Beyond that, I know you have no abilities what so ever other than perhaps your brute strength and ... your eyesight and hearing. You used both of those almost as much as you used your speed from what I can ... just barely recall."

"So tell me, what's it like living in a constant haze of stupidity?" Hiei sent him a withered look. He could remember all that, but he couldn't remember him using a sword? Really? He rolled his eyes and shifted his weight to his other foot. "Nice try. You can fool the three out there, but I was in your head long enough to know how you think. You havn't changed that much, and you wouldn't just allow someone into your pack who you didn't know, even if they knew you. You're not that trusting." |

REGRET IS A DIFFERENT BEAST WHEN YOU'VE LIVED FOR CENTURIES | Dancing around his own problems was something Kurama was used to doing these days. He didn't have time to worry about his own issues or problems so he just avoided them completely. Not that he was afraid of what he'd fine, but namely because he didn't have time for now confusing he knew he was. "Huh, well I suppose you have a point there. Though perhaps I've only allowed you to join in order to gain memories back of you." He shrugged his shoulders before leaning up and heaving a deep sigh. "I care not the reasons. I suppose you're right and you speak for yourself, I've allowed you to join me to save my own tail. If you're stronger, they'll target you and focus on you more than me. This allows me to escape without a hitch."

Hiei shrugged at his brother's reasoning. Whether Kurama would admit it to himself or not, Hiei knew he allowed him to join because his curiosity got the better of him. "Brute strength. As I recall, it is the reason you hired me the first time." MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS & THQ

Can I even recall such a time? It's been so long... and so much has happened. Digging through my memories to try and find a specific time. I'm so tired of it all; yet I keep living because of my will... my instincts.
"I suppose you're right." Finally having come upon the memory, Kurama responded. "Thought I must have had a hidden meaning. I was stronger back then, finding a strong comrade wouldn't have been that hard... It must have been because of my previous brother dying." Another shrug. "Regardless it seems I'm stuck with you." He wasn't disappointed to be stuck with him, just a bit confused still on why he had even chose the demon to be rescued. Why did he rescue any of them? His mother had once told him he was a kind soul deep down. He refused to believe such sappiness.

Hiei's eyes widened as his brother referred to Kuronue. He quickly recovered himself and brought his expressionless mask back, but it was a shock. Kurama had never referred to Kuronue in such a way. A close friend and ally, yes, but never a brother. He wandered what kind of memories his brother was recalling, and if they were even accurate to start with. He would never truly know how much that statement cut Hiei. How deep it tore at him.
I recall a time when I had been jealous of Kuronue. Kurama's previous partner. Kurama talked about him in the dark of night, when he didn't think I was listening. When I had confronted him about the bat, years later, Kurama had shrugged it off. He had made fun of my jealous attitude, and assured me that the bat demon was just another friend.
Hiei shrugged. "It would seem so. " MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS & THQ

Dancing around something - that's what the other was doing. He arched a brow over at him and narrowed his eyes. How was he himself even sure that the other was dancing around something? Those shocked eyes and then retracting back to an emotionless mask. None of this was something Kurama wanted to deal with. Part of him wanted a peaceful life and part of him loved the excitement that came with rescuing his fellow brethren... but they couldn't be considered his brethren, could they? He didn't show up as demon under the radars, but he didn't age. Confusion, and nothing but.
"What do you make of a person scanned showing as human, yet he doesn't age?" He arched a brow, posing the question as a means to break this awkward silence.

Hiei was silent a moment, weighing whether Kurama was being hypothetical or talking of himself. He assumed this was the beginning of the questions, and took it to mean his brother was referring to his non-aging human body. "If I were to come across that, I would blame human technology for being as ridiculous as I've always thought. However in your case it's a bit different. You're a fox demon trapped inside a human vessel. It is your demon body keeping your human body from aging. I can only assume that your hair and eyes are different because you lack demon energy, making you resemble your human mother now. I can also assume that you are in your human form because your demon form, along with your memories, went into hibernation to save you from being annihilated in the rift." MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS & THQ

The gears in his head kept turning. So all of his assumptions were right... Perhaps he should have just acted as if he were right instead of second guessing himself. A new sense of definition came upon him. What if he was right about everything? Perhaps it would be egotistical, but in a sense, he had been right thus far about everything pertaining to his human body and why it came upon scans as it did without aging. "Well it would seem I've been correct all along. How foolish of me to think otherwise. A moment of weakness." He retorted, his body leaning up to look Hiei in the eyes. "I've been blind in a sense, second guessing. You've cleared my mind." A moment later and he was standing, stretching his human limbs. It was necessary as to avoid certain ones falling asleep.

"I know of nothing else but my arrogance." He explained, a small smile creeping at the corners of his mouth. "I fail to see where I resemble a fox now other than my memories. Wouldn't it be a false accusation?" He asked, tilting his head with fake curiosity and a mocking quirked brow.

Hiei shrugged, turning his eyes to the room he was in. Locating where Kurama kept his clothing, he walked over and began to look through it. He wanted something warmer. "I've called you that for hundreds of years. Spirit World screwing us over isn't going to change that." MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS & THQ
